For the record

There is something I would like to get off my chest. With the baby on the way, we are getting a lot of well-wishes from friends and family. We love all these little comments of support and love. Our family and friends are so important to us and we love them all very much. For whatever reason, a lot of the comments seem to be centered around the gender of the baby. No one is very surprised we are expecting (apparently, you all saw this coming) but everyone seems obsessed with the idea of this baby wearing pink.

With that said...I think it is important to have it on record that as much as everyone wants this baby to be a little girl, we are okay with another boy. Let me clarify, not just okay, over the moon, thrilled, totally in love with the idea of another son. My boys are the greatest gift of my life. Steve and I believe with all of our hearts that God builds and designs our family for us. We trust Him 100% to give us the child we are meant to raise. And if that child wears hair bows and bloomers, great. And if not, that is just as amazing.

That isn't to say we wouldn't love a daughter. I'd love to see Steve with a Daddy's girl, cause y'all know that is what she would be. I would love to have dance classes and tutus to round out the cleats and gym shorts. But no matter what, I am just so honored and thrilled with the opportunity to be called "mother" one more time. There is nothing in the world like it, no matter what color the child is wearing.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." ~Psalm 127:3
